Pamagalski Tops Current Leader
Parallel Giant Slalom #2
Alpe D'Huez, France — January 11, 2004

Just one day after landing 10th in the Arosa, Switzerland replacement parallel giant slalom, Michelle Gorgone (Sudbury, MA) finished just two slots shy of the podium in the scheduled Alpe d'Huez race. It was Gorgone's third World Cup top-10 finish on the season including a third place result at the December Whistler World Cup.

Local rider Julie Pamagalski stepped up from her fifth place result the day before to top current parallel leader Daniela Mueli of Switzlerland. Isabella Blanc, also of France, finished third, while teammate Mathieu Bozzetto, the reigning World Cup parallel champ topped the men's field. Current parallel leader Siegfried Grabner of Austria finished second ahead of Canadian Jasey Jay Anderson.

Top U.S. man was Olympic bronze medalist Chris Klug (Aspen, CO) with 22nd.
