Rosey Fletcher (Anchorage, AK) was sixth and Chris Klug (Aspen, CO) 10th in the opening parallel giant slalom of the FIS Snowboard World Cup Saturday in Ischgl. Snowboard PGS, along with snowboard halfpipe, is one of the two Olympic snowboard disciplines.

Fletcher and Lisa Kosglow (Boise, ID) were the only Americans to advance to the women's Finals. Kosglow dropped out in the first round while Fletcher lost in the quarter-finals. Doris Guenther of Austria beat Sara Fischer of Sweden to take the win.

Klug was the only American to qualify, and he failed to make the quarter-finals. Nicolas Huet of France took the win over Sweden's Stephen Copp.

Action concludes in Ischgl on Sunday with another PGS, this one moved from Kaprun last weekend. — Courtesy, US Snowboard Team
