MEN'S RESULTS

Mathieu Bozzetto and the ever-dominant Karine Ruby gave France two parallel giant slalom snowboard victories Sunday when each of their Swiss opponents crashed in the final run while holding the lead. Lisa Kosglow (Boise, ID) had the lone top-10 for the USA, finishing eighth in the women's PGS in a make-up from Kaprun.

Bozzetto, trailing by 1.35 seconds after the first runs of finals, knocked off Ueli Kestenholz in the men's event on the last day of the third stop on the FIS World Cup tour. In the women's competition, Ruby defeated another Swiss rider, Steffi Von Siebenthal, who held a .11 lead after the first run.

For the U.S. riders, Kosglow was eighth, Rosey Fletcher (Girdwood, AK) 10th and Stacia Hookom (Edwards, CO) 22nd for the top results, while Chris Klug (Aspen, CO) was 11th on the men's side with Eric Warren (Bennington, VT), 41st.

Organizers were geeted Sunday by sunshine after two days of rain and poor weather. The event had been moved from Kaprun, which lost its entire snowboard weekend Nov. 23-25 due to horrendous weather.

The FIS schedule turns now to Canada for events Dec. 6-11 at Whistler, B.C., and Dec. 14-16 at Mont Ste. Anne, near Quebec City. — Courtesy, US Snowboard Team
