Rosey Fletcher (Girdwood, AK) knocked off World Cup leader Ursula Bruhin of Switzerland to take her fifth career World Cup PSL victory Friday after qualifying 11th on the Stora Backen course. Teammates Lisa Kosglow (Boulder, CO) and Stacia Hookom (Edwards, CO) also advanced to the final 16 before finishing ninth and 13th respectively.

On the men’s side Germany’s Markus Ebner held off tour leader Mathieu Bozzetto of France to top the podium. Chris Klug (Aspen, CO) had the best U.S. result, finishing 23rd.

“Rosey was just flat out better than anybody else on the red course today," said U.S. Snowboard Head Coach Peter Foley. "Everybody seemed to be having some trouble with a bump near the top of the course, but Rosey was solid all day and just kept winning.”

Fletcher, who took third in Tandadalen at last year's World Cup PSL closer has been slowed recently by a bruised rib she sustained while training at Mammoth, CA, but showed no signs of pain as she cruised through the finals.

“She was a little scared at before the last race,” added Foley, “but her riding has improved so much so fast this year after taking pretty much the whole summer off. Obviously the rib is healed and Rosey’s confidence is back.”

“The guys just haven’t been racing they way they’ve been training,” said Foley. “They are all plenty fast, but they’ve been making a lot of mistakes and that’s what we need to work on. It’s all there, they just need to put it together when it counts.”
